EVENT HIGHLIGHTS: Sustainability and the arts

14th September 2023 2 min read

During Climate Week NYC, many events will give guests an opportunity to celebrate climate action and the arts through exhibitions, screenings, performances, and interactive workshops.

The inclusion of the arts within the framework of events during Climate Week NYC underscores the profound role that creativity and art play in inspiring sustainable change. The arts offer a unique channel for conveying complex environmental issues in an accessible and compelling manner, helping to bridge the gap between scientific data and public understanding.

By collaborating with artists and cultural institutions such as Maya Lin and BBC Studios, we harness the potential to inspire innovative solutions, foster partnerships, and build a broader coalition of support for our climate initiatives. Moreover, we are able to celebrate the beauty sustainability has to offer.

What is Climate Week NYC?

Join us for the 15th year of Climate Week NYC. This year our motto is We Can, We Will. Done. Taking place September 17-24, Climate Week NYC returns for 2023 as the largest global climate event of its kind.

Hosted annually by international non-profit the Climate Group in conjunction with the United National General Assembly, and in partnership with the COP28 and the City of New York, Climate Week NYC is a global opportunity to come together to accelerate climate action and assess progress ahead of COP28.

What are Climate Week NYC side events?

The Climate Week NYC events program plays a vital part in the week and in building and maintaining global momentum around climate action.  The events program offers in-person and virtual opportunities to hear from high-profile leaders of business and industry as well as local grass-roots leaders through a diverse array of engaging events across the five boroughs. To engage with our program, check out our event calendar or download our app on IOS or Android to view all our events, browse local sustainable businesses and be a part of the community.
