The Climate & Us: Series Premiere

Climate change is leading to more frequent extreme weather events and environmental damage. And it is also causing enormous damage to human health. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared climate change the single greatest threat to human health in the 21st Century. There is no separating the two – the climate crisis is a health crisis.

BBC StoryWorks Programme Partnerships is producing a new series for the Global Climate and Health Alliance which will explore the link between planetary and human health. It will tell the stories of individuals, organisations and communities that are researching the impact of climate change on human health, mitigating climate change to protect human health and adapting our environments to create stronger systems that can withstand the disruptions caused by climate change.

This is a challenging time for the health of humanity and the planet. However, this series will have a positive outlook. It will showcase the benefits for our health that arise through actions to protect the planet.
