Conservation International works to protect the nature people everywhere rely on for food, water, and a stable climate. Nature-based climate solutions are at the heart of this work. Through science, innovative finance, and fieldwork, Conservation International is working to help reduce deforestation and protect and restore the nature that is key to preventing climate breakdown.
As the Nature Program Partner of Climate Week NYC, Conservation International will showcase investments in nature as “climate action and climate justice.” High-quality investments in carbon-dense ecosystems – such as mangroves and tropical forests – can provide at least 30 percent of the total emissions reductions needed to meet Paris Climate Agreement goals. These investments can also help diversify local economies, improve rural livelihoods and support health and educational services in Indigenous and local communities.
Conservation International works in 30 countries around the world, supporting societies at all levels to create a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable planet.
