Frequently Asked
Questions

Have a question about Climate Week NYC? Here’s everything you need to know:

What is Climate Week NYC?

Climate Week NYC is the world’s leading and most dynamic climate platform for the decision-makers who shape our future. For almost two decades, the non profit event has created the progress and action that shifts markets.

Each year, hundreds of events take place across the city, from major announcements and business forums to community gatherings, cultural events, and public activations.

Who owns and runs Climate Week NYC?

Founded and run by the international non profit organization Climate Group, Climate Week NYC takes place across New York City every September in coordination with the United Nations General Assembly.

Climate Group manages the only official Climate Week NYC event program and calendar.

Does Climate Group organize every event?

Climate Week NYC events are independently organized by participating organizations. Climate Group manages the official event platform and calendar, but does not produce or manage most individual events.

Climate Group owns and runs the Climate Week NYC Opening Ceremony and The Hub Live, which happen on September 21-22.

How can I attend Climate Group's Opening Ceremony or The Hub Live?

The Opening Ceremony and The Hub Live are invite only, but accessible to all via online streaming.

For all other registered in-person events under our official program, we encourage you to visit our events calendar when it's published in early June.

Do you have speaking opportunities available?

Yes. If you're interested in speaking at the Climate Week NYC Opening Ceremony or The Hub Live, please fill out this form.

What's the strapline this year?

Our strapline is: Energy. Impact. Action.

What are the themes this year?

We have twelve themes that explore the challenges and opportunities shaping implementation in 2026.

While each of the themes focuses on a distinct area of climate action, many of today's biggest challenges cut across sectors. Throughout the Events Program, we'll explore issues including adaptation and resilience, education, youth leadership, and the just transition.

2. Climate and Health
3. Energy and Electrification
4. Environmental Justice
5. Finance and Clean Growth
6. Food and Agriculture
7. Industry and Supply Chains

Do you offer hotel blocks for Climate Week NYC attendees?

At this time, we do not offer hotel blocks. For a centralized location, we recommend lodging in midtown or downtown Manhattan. Ensure your hotel is located close to a train or bus station for ease of getting around.

Is Climate Week NYC a conference?

Climate Week NYC is a platform comprising hundreds of independently hosted events taking place across one week in New York City and globally online.

When will I be able to see the list of all Climate Week NYC events?

Our official events calendar will be published in early June.

Who can host an event?

Climate Week NYC events are hosted by organisations and individuals from across the climate ecosystem and beyond.

This includes:

- Businesses
- NGOs and non-profits
- Government organizations
- Academic institutions
- Community groups
- Cultural organizations
- Creators and media platforms

From private roundtables to public activations, Climate Week NYC is shaped by the organizations, communities, and people taking part.

If your work contributes to climate action, sustainability, resilience, or the wider transition, you can apply to host an official Climate Week NYC event.

Where are Climate Week NYC events happening?

Our official Events Program will take place across all five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Staten Island). Our interactive events map will be available in the coming months.

Is there a cost to attend Climate Week NYC events?

Our mission is to ensure that the Climate Week NYC official Events Program is open and accessible to all. Participation in most Climate Week NYC events is free of charge. However, some events may charge an entry fee.

How do I host a Climate Week NYC Event?

Your Climate Week NYC event can take various forms, such as panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, performances, seminars, concerts, or community initiatives. For more information about hosting an event and applying to be part of our official program, visit our host an event page.

We have a new events portal for 2026. All event hosts, returning and new, must register for an account before logging in.

I'm a returning event host. How do I access the event host portal?

This year, we moved our Events Portal to a new platform. This means you cannot log in using your previous details. As a returning host, you must register to create a new account before logging in. You may use the same email address as before. Create your new account and log in here.

If you keep experiencing technical issues, please get in touch.

What are the benefits of registering as an official Climate Week NYC Event?

By registering an official Climate Week NYC event, you’ll gain exposure to a global audience interested in climate action, ultimately increasing your event's reach and impact. Hosts continuously provide feedback that 80% of attendees hear about their event via our platform.

You'll become part of a citywide program that brings together organizations, communities, and audiences focused on climate action. Hosts receive access to our official toolkit and event stamp, alongside opportunities for visibility across Climate Week NYC digital channels.

To connect with our team regarding your event, please email host@climateweeknyc.org.

Is there a cost to register my Climate Week NYC event?

Climate Group has a tiered charging structure to ensure we can provide the best level of support. For profit companies pay a $600 registration fee, while qualifying non profit organizations, schools, community groups, and government bodies are asked to make a donation of any amount instead of paying a fee.

All fees contribute to maintaining the accessibility of Climate Week NYC, while also providing support for the platform and the small team that makes the week happen.

No billing details will be taken in the first stage of the application process.

Is there a deadline to submit events?

The deadline to register an event is mid-September. We encourage you to register early so your event is visible on the official calendar for longer, and attendees have more time to discover it.

Events submitted after the deadline will be reviewed case by case

How can I stay up to date?

You can stay up to date with all the action leading up to and during Climate Week NYC 2026 through our LinkedIn, Instagram, and newsletter.

How is Climate Week NYC different from COP?

Unlike global negotiations, Climate Week NYC operates at the intersection of markets, policy, and capital.

Expect:

- Executive-level dialogues on net zero, the energy transition, and resilient economies

- Insights from CEOs, ministers, and investors delivering real-world climate action

- A trusted space to connect, influence, and lead during Climate Week NYC

Attending Climate Week NYC means being present where direction is set - influencing priorities, partnerships, and decisions that extend far beyond the week itself. The Hub Live equips leaders with the clarity, confidence, and connections needed to accelerate impact across global systems.

Why do you run Climate Week NYC during UNGA? That’s the time when New York is at its busiest, and hotel rooms at their priciest.

We very consciously run Climate Week NYC at the same time as the UN General Assembly (UNGA). Many of our key audiences will already be in New York, including global businesses, so aligning the events is a way to save emissions from our business partners, political leaders, and media, as they won’t have to travel to New York twice.

And with Climate Week NYC having grown into the large event that it now is, with thousands of people gathering in New York City to discuss climate action, prices for hotels and event spaces will be similar to what they are now, even if we’d decouple the event from UNGA.

We keep in close contact with key partners to see if there are more efficient ways to organize Climate Week NYC. We plan this event over a year ahead, in alignment with UNGA, and so suppliers, venues, and dates for 2026 have already been chosen.
