Wake for the Ocean (Live Stream)

On September 16 @ 5:00-8:00 PM at Santa Monica Beach, there will be a public Wake for the Ocean, which will be a beautiful demonstration by organizations, celebrity activists, and citizens focused on ocean health, peace-building, and indigenous voices for the planet. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about our nested relationships with nature and each other, and to highlight the care that these communities have for the connective body of water between us all. The themes for this event will be alternative visions for current issues in the world with regards to ocean pollution, extraction, and wars; we will be focusing on the peoples' voices that have solutions for a better planet. We have invited 8-10 speakers to join the eulogy circle to represent one (or several) of the following topics: State of the Ocean The connection between ocean health & human health Regenerative Seafood Fossil fuel and plastic treaties The solution to pollution is EVOLUTION (of thought, consciousness, and culture) Moratorium on Deep Sea Mining International peace-building Stories that connect us to the ocean
