Plotting Creative & Sustainable Pathways

As part of Climate Week NYC, you are invited to attend the official launch of Junk Kouture x Parsons Univeristy - a partnership focused on education, fashion and a creative, sustainable pathway. The launch will include a Q&A with the first ever Junk Kouture New York City Designer of the Year, Isis De Farias Madeira, who's design 'Tree of Life' - made from banana fibre - scooped one of the top prizes in the 2022 World Final. The drinks reception will also feature speakers from Junk Kouture, Parsons University, Deloitte and Climate Group, as well as an exclusive display of Junk Kouture designs from its international competition. All designs have been created from recycled materials by young people from across the world. The event will precede the unveiling of a window display of Junk Kouture designs as part of Climate Week NYC - running from 17-24 September.

Tickets are limited to this event. --- What is Junk Kouture? Junk Kouture is the world's largest creative program for young people. Challenging middle and high schools student to design and create couture fashion from only junk, before showcasing them on national and global stages, the program has competitions running in six countries, working towards 6 UN Sustainable Development Goals. What is the partnership? Junk Kouture and Parsons School of Design will collaborate to strengthen the educational offerings provided by Junk Kouture and expand the reach of both Junk Kouture and Parsons School of Design in the United States.
