Environmental Equity: The Thread Between Climate and DEI

MAIN STAGE SESSION:

Environmental Equity: The Thread Between Climate and DEI We all share a responsibility to address the root causes of climate change and reduce the footprint of our own actions. No group is immune to the effects of climate change, and our efforts to address climate risk are fundamental to the future of thriving societies. Because climate change disproportionately impacts underserved groups, eroding safety, long-term health and economic outcomes, our climate actions should be viewed through the lens of equitable opportunity, further solidifying the need for progress. This Main Stage panel will address the role we play in responding to systemic challenges that have created disparities across society, specifically focused on environmental equity.

ABOUT THE NEST CLIMATE CAMPUS: The Nest Climate Campus accelerates climate solutions through collaboration and community. From September 19th to 21st at the Javits Center, the climate campus hosts a dynamic three-day event featuring thought-leading demonstrations of climate action on the Main Stage, Co-hosted Events offering an array of workshops and roundtable discussions, and community engagement activities that provide rich networking opportunities for attendees across the Campus. Thematic programming will cover clean energy, carbon capture, fashion, beauty, travel & tourism, impact investing, climate justice and equity, communications, and more.
