Across rural America, communities are working to create new economic opportunities while protecting the forests and natural resources that sustain them. Join Trust for Public Land and partners for a conversation about how community led outdoor recreation can help communities achieve both. Drawing on lessons from TPL’s work through Appalachia United Outdoors (AUO), panelists will explore how strategic investments in recreation, conservation, and community capacity can strengthen local economies, improve public health, and build long-term climate resilience. Through real-world examples, panelists will also explore how lessons from Appalachia can serve as a replicable model for forested rural communities across the country.
