What can 25 years alongside an ecological corridor teach us about connection? The Santa Maria Ecological Corridor, formally established in southern Brazil in 2001, is part of an Atlantic Forest landscape shaped over time by conservation, restoration and the participation of different public and private actors. This event shares a personal perspective shaped by 25 years of witnessing that landscape change — its restoration efforts, its challenges, the partnerships formed along the way, and the lessons that emerged from living close to this process. Through Instituto Caminhos da Conservação (ICC), some of those lessons have found a new path: environmental education. By bringing children closer to nature, conservation institutions and field experiences, we seek to encourage curiosity and a better understanding of the relationships between people and the natural world. This is not a scientific presentation or a prescription for conservation. It is an invitation to reflect on what one landscape, and the people and institutions connected to it, can teach us about collaboration, continuity and our relationship with nature. Central question: What happens when reconnecting landscapes also becomes an opportunity to reconnect people with nature?
