The roundtable will bring together senior leaders from the transport, energy, grids and infrastructure and climate communities, across government, the private sector and civil society, to work through three key messages: the political nature of the coordination gap, the case for framing integrated planning around energy resilience rather than climate benefit alone, and the coalition needed to carry this agenda forward towards COP31. This roundtable aims to forge a shared narrative on transport decarbonisation and electrification powered by renewable energy, translating it into a practical solutions roadmap with priority actions and policy interventions. Building on the COP30 Declaration, the initiative will generate inputs for GST-2 (2028) and shape key processes including COP31, TAFF, CEM, and the UN Decade of Sustainable Transport. Ultimately, it seeks to unite stakeholders around a coherent global transport-energy agenda that harnesses the nexus between these sectors.
