All Hands on Deck: Co-Designing Climate Resilience is a day-long convening hosted by The Goonj Foundation and BASACA (Bay Area South Asian Climate Association), bringing together approximately 100 funders, founders, policymakers, researchers, practitioners, philanthropists and climate leaders during Climate Week NYC 2026. The premise is simple: some of the most consequential climate adaptation knowledge sits with communities experiencing climate shocks firsthand;entrepreneurs are translating climate challenges into scalable solutions;and funders and investors have the capital to accelerate them. Yet these groups too often operate in separate rooms. All Hands on Deck is designed to bring them together. Across four interconnected sessions, the day moves from frontline experience and community-led disaster response to narratives, climate innovation and capital: 1. Societal Alliances for Disaster Response Drawing on Goonj’s 27+ years of grassroots experience across South Asia, this interactive session examines community-led approaches to disaster response and climate resilience, bringing policymakers, funders, practitioners and institutional leaders into dialogue with lessons from disaster-affected communities. 2. Reframing Disaster Stories: Global Report Launch & Roundtable Goonj Knowledge and Research Institute launches new research examining how disasters are represented globally—whose voices shape the narrative, what perspectives are missing, and how community agency can be better integrated into climate and disaster storytelling, funding and decision-making. 3. The Climate Innovation Dialogue Lightning talks from climate founders, funders and innovators lead into curated cross-table working discussions. Founders, investors, researchers and frontline practitioners will examine real bottlenecks and opportunities, connecting perspectives that rarely meet around the same table. 4. Capital & Connect: Breakthrough Climate Innovations The day concludes by connecting climate entrepreneurship with capital. A VC discussion with investors deploying capital in the region is followed by a founder-funder gathering focused on what it takes to build, finance and scale the next generation of climate solutions across the US–South Asia corridor. Together, the four sessions explore a common question: How can community knowledge, innovation and capital work together to strengthen climate resilience and scale effective adaptation solutions? The convening is accompanied by Disasters: Myths and Realities, an exhibition of photographs by Goonj founder Anshu Gupta documenting more than 27 years of communities navigating disasters and recovery.
