The Partnership for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (PEEB) works to transform the global buildings sector by promoting sustainable building design, construction, and operation. Through innovative financing and policy support, PEEB helps lower energy demand, reduce emissions, and unlock economic and environmental benefits for a climate-resilient future. PEEB works to make the buildings sector, which is responsible for 34% of global energy-related GHG emissions, a leader in the implementation of COP28 pledge to double the rate of Energy Efficiency improvements yearly by 2030. It also supports the Buildings Breakthrough pledge of making near-zero and resilient buildings the new normal by 2030. PEEB supports Climate Week NYC to put buildings at the heart if the climate agenda and activate global leaders to unlock finance and action for energy efficiency and resilience in the built environment. PEEB is Franco-German partnership founded by BMUKN, MTECT, and implemented by GIZ and AFD.
