The first episode of the Climate Week NYC Daily Show is out, jam-packed with speakers and highlights – and it tackles the main theme of the Opening Ceremony head-on.
Because if the Opening Ceremony of Climate week NYC had one recurring theme, it would be how climate change is changing the geopolitical landscape, and how countries are responding to it. The call of many of the speakers was resounding: it should be with courage, and it should be loud.
On the show, produced with Newsweek and Hi-Impact, we have Iceland's PM Kristrún Frostadóttir and Lt Gen Richard Nugee speaking about how climate change is shaping geopolitics and boosting it as a national security issue. Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, Amina Mohammed, shares her views on how climate is slipping off agendas - but, she said: "The opportunity to go green, faster, is bringing people together". And Ali Mohamed, Kenya’s climate change envoy, is already looking ahead to COP32 in Ethiopia, and how countries in Africa will seize the opportunity to set the agenda.
So, sit back, and enjoy the show.
