As the global climate agenda shifts from commitment to implementation, a critical question remains: who gets access to the capital needed to deliver climate solutions at scale? Africa does not lack climate solutions. Across the continent, enterprises are building solutions in clean energy, climate-smart agriculture, circular economy, resilient value chains and other sectors central to the climate transition. Yet many promising businesses remain disconnected from the investment pathways, financing structures and partnerships needed to move from enterprise to scale with women-led businesses facing particularly persistent barriers to capital. Building on Women Leading Climate Action (WLCA) convenings in Accra, Abidjan and Abuja, Who Gets the Climate Capital? brings together policymakers, investors, development and philanthropic finance, and women-led climate enterprises to examine how this gap can be closed. The conversation will focus on what it takes to build investable pipelines: how policy can create stronger pathways for enterprise and investment;where catalytic and philanthropic capital can unlock opportunity and de-risk investment;what private investors need to deploy capital;and what prevents promising enterprises from crossing the threshold to scale. Taking place during UNGA81 and Climate Week NYC, and on the road to COP31, the roundtable will connect the global implementation agenda with the realities of financing climate businesses in African markets, positioning women-led enterprises not simply as beneficiaries of the climate transition, but as businesses, innovators and investment opportunities capable of delivering it. This will be a focused, interactive roundtable designed to generate practical exchange between those shaping policy, deploying capital and building climate solutions.
