​ABOUT THE EVENT This event is organised by Razom We Stand, a European energy and policy organisation founded in Ukraine that works to accelerate Europe's transition away from fossil-fuel vulnerability while integrating Ukraine into a secure, renewable and resilient European energy system. It is co-organised by chilli, a digital action platform for climate and social justice that makes it easy to take action on the issues that matter. ​Five years of sustained Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure have generated hard-won practical knowledge on distributed generation as critical infrastructure, on keeping damaged grids operating under repeated attack, as well as on ensuring reconstruction strengthens energy security without locking in decades of new fossil-fuel dependence. ​This expertise carries relevance far beyond Ukraine. Climate change, geopolitical instability and other disruptions are forcing governments worldwide to rethink energy systems built on assumptions of stability and centralised supply. Ukraine's experience belongs in the wider international conversation about how energy systems become cleaner, more distributed and more resilient. This event places Ukraine at the centre of the multilateral climate conversation, positioning Ukraine as a source of expertise rather than a recipient of aid. ​The discussion brings together decision-makers, practitioners, civil society and finance experts for two working conversations held under Chatham House Rule, addressing three interconnected questions: who controls the energy system, how it survives disruption and what kind of system emerges from crisis. Through the lenses of sovereignty, resilience and transformation, these conversations place Ukrainian expertise within a broader international discussion on building energy systems for an increasingly unstable world.
