The Climate Cooling Initiative (CCI) is a collaborative effort to protect, restore, and strengthen Earth's nature-based climate-cooling systems — the forests, soils, wetlands, watersheds, and ocean systems that regulate heat, water, energy, and rainfall — to accelerate measurable cooling and climate stabilization alongside rapid reductions in greenhouse-gas emissions. Nature-based cooling functions remain substantially underrecognized in mainstream climate strategy, finance, and policy;CCI connects the science, restoration, measurement, finance, and implementation capacity needed to act on this at consequential scale. This working session is grounded in the "Cooling Climate Quickly" paper's evidence on evapotranspiration, albedo, and wildfire-recovery data.
