12pm–1pm Moms on the front lines of AI and more: Meet the parents using storytelling as a tool for change Research consistently shows that storytelling is a catalyst for change. Personal narratives have the power to move hearts and minds, influence policy, and inspire action. This panel features three children’s health champions from Moms Clean Air Force who will share how they use stories in their own advocacy. Vanessa Lynch will discuss how she uses storytelling as a tool to fight pollution from AI data centers. Amanda Rowoldt will share how speaking out about worries for her health sparked an investigation into an “advanced recycling” plastic incineration facility that was ultimately shut down. Alexandra Zissu will talk about how she transforms into “Mom Detective” to make information about safer consumer products accessible to busy families. The panel will be moderated by Melissa Jun Rowley, who is a journalist and author of the new book “Beyond the Mic Drop: How Our Stories Shift Culture, Power & Policy.” 1pm–2pm Motherhood redefined: How extreme heat is changing what it means to carry, raise, and protect life on a warming planet To raise a child today is also to defend the world that child will inherit as the climate transforms around us. Join Moms Clean Air Force for a panel discussion with Nichole Sobecki, an award-winning National Geographic photographer and co-director of the new documentary Natura. From the Arctic to the Amazon, Natura follows a chorus of land guardians, fire ecologists, midwives, organizers, and mothers whose work broadens motherhood beyond biological birth to encompass cultural transmission and the defense of land. Sobecki's photographs also appear in a forthcoming October 2026 National Geographic feature on heat's impact on maternal and fetal health. The panel will include Lauren DeFilippo of Insignia Films and producer for Natura. Moms Clean Air Force's Associate Vice President Isabel González Whitaker will moderate the panel.
