The future of food systems will not be determined by the innovations we invent, but by the innovations we choose to scale. From next-generation crops and AI to regenerative agriculture and sustainable livestock, promising solutions are emerging across the food systems landscape. Yet innovation alone is not enough. The challenge is determining which innovations can truly deliver a Just Rural Transition, and how they could benefit both people and the planet. SOUND TRACK brings together diverse voices from across the food systems ecosystem to explore a central question: How do we prioritize in the wave of agri-food innovations and technological advancements, and how can we harness them not just for environmental sustainability, but to bring fair opportunities and economic security to vulnerable populations too? Co-hosted by Clim-Eat and Laurie M. Tisch Center for Food, Education and Policy, the event is designed as an interactive learning experience where participants don't simply hear about innovation, but they also help identify the breakthrough solutions with the greatest potential to accelerate a Just Rural Transition. Guided by the vision of the High-Level Panel for a Just Rural Transition, SOUND TRACK moves beyond showcasing innovation to exploring what it takes to scale it. By connecting breakthrough ideas with perspectives from policy, finance, philanthropy and business, the event highlights the enabling conditions required to translate innovation into lasting impact.
