Come to Coney Island Creek to connect with and clean this lesser known tidal inlet, the sole remaining creek in what was once an interconnected series of streams in a tidal marsh. Just five blocks away but a world apart from its famous amusement park neighbor, this vulnerable water-body is beloved by fishers and birders and also becoming choked with trash and migrating sand from outflowing CSOs and the tidal currents. Gather with us to learn about this important habitat, how it has been altered and contaminated by human bioengineering and extractive industry, and how it persists as a sanctuary for humans and other living beings.
