Unlocking Climate Innovation: From Global Commitments to Local Green Technology Deployment

As countries move from climate commitments to implementation, stronger links are needed between Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), investment priorities, and the green technologies that can deliver concrete mitigation, adaptation and resilience outcomes on the ground. This high-level event, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), will explore how international cooperation, innovation and partnerships can help accelerate the deployment of green technologies worldwide. Bringing together government representatives, Permanent Missions, UN agencies, innovators, investors, academia, civil society and other innovation ecosystem actors, the event will examine practical pathways for connecting climate policy with technology deployment. Discussions will focus on South-South cooperation, technology matchmaking, access to financing and strategic partnerships that can support the dissemination and uptake of green technologies in areas such as renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, water management and resilient development. The event will also showcase WIPO GREEN, WIPO's global platform that connects providers and seekers of green technologies and supports partnerships that help move solutions from innovation to real-world deployment.
