Understanding Antisemitism: Learning ways to end the use of antisemitism as a wedge issue dividing the Climate Movement

Antisemitism has increased significantly worldwide in the recent period, including in the Climate Movement. In this workshop, you will learn  how to distinguish when something in climate activism work is antisemitism and when it isn’t. For example, a climate organization that takes a position of wanting to defeat the racist policies of the Israeli government and fully back Palestinian Liberation work is NOT antisemitism. Kicking out all Jewish organizations from climate coalitions if they have any relationship with Israel is antisemitism. Come learn a set of intergroup tools for healing these divides that can help us defeat the use of antisemitism to divide the climate movement, so that we can truly build a glabal unified movement to end the climate crisis. Antisemitism in climate work is not a problem Jews can solve alone. It’s also important for non-Jews to understand the patterns of antisemitism and how they are currently showing up in climate work.
