The Brazilian Experience in Women and Youth Social Participation Pre- and Post-COP30: Challenges and Perspectives for COP31

One year after hosting COP30 in the Amazon, Brazil presents its experience of participatory climate engagement led by women and youth. This public panel systematizes the methodology, results, and lessons learned across the pre- and post-COP30 cycle — from the National Women and Climate Articulation and the Youth Biome Plenaries, to the Biome Youth Delegation's role at COP30 and the Post-COP30 Women and Youth Biome Plenaries held across Brazil's six biomes in 2026. Central to the session is the report Voices of the Biomes: Women and Youth Agenda for Climate, built with UNFPA and CONJUVE and gathering the priorities of some 700 people from the territories. The panel showcases a replicable, bottom-up model of social participation and opens dialogue with civil society, social movements, international organizations, governments, and academia on strengthening this agenda ahead of COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye. The event features an institutional opening, a presentation of the pre- and post-COP30 trajectory, a conversation panel with organizing institutions and youth participants, and open Q&A. Organized by the Ministry of Women, the National Youth Secretariat, the Youth Climate Champion (PYCC), and UNFPA.
