Sustainable Fashion Scholars Ideation Day

Sustainable Fashion Scholars: Ideation Day is a student-led, inter-institutional gathering intended to provide space for the next generation of climate x fashion leaders to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and accelerate solutions toward a sustainable fashion industry and culture. Built by students, for students, the day centers on learning and skill-sharing over formal presentation; bringing together newcomers and seasoned practitioners alike to trade ideas, test emerging thinking, and leave with real connections and next steps. Organized by:Yale University's Moving the Needle, Columbia University's Impact Style, New York University's Future Fashion Group, Parsons School of Design Hosted by: The Gromek Institute for Business at Parsons School of Design Sponsored by: NYU Sustainability In collaboration with: Helix Commons: A Storied Resale Marketplace. Agenda: 12:00pm — Lunch is served! Browse the Helix Commons marketplace featuring pre-owned fashion, local makers, and student vendors while connecting with fellow attendees. 1:00pm promptly — Fashion x Climate flash talks begin. A curated series of accessible, informative, “lightning-quick” talks from our interdisciplinary community of sustainable fashion scholars. Initial creative discussion begins here. 2:15pm — Ideation begins. Students form small groups and tackle an issue of their interest from the flash talks. Brainstorming, sketching, mapping. Facilitators and subject matter experts available to assist in any way needed. 3:15pm — Ideation share-out. Students combine groups and share their unique thoughts, visions, and potential solutions to their chosen issue. 3:45pm — Ask + offer session. Students share their solutions with the entire community, identifying what they need and what can offer to the community in return. 4:00pm — Mocktail hour! Continue the discussion over some drinks and desserts.
