Sustainability & Resilience: A Green Transition for Street Vendors in NYC, with The New York Community Trust x Street Vendor Project

​Join Anew, The New York Community Trust, and the Street Vendor Project as we reimagine a greener and more just vending economy for over 20,000 vendors in New York City. ​This dynamic panel discussion explored current efforts to help food trucks and street vendors transition away from diesel generators and toward cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions. This conversation will examine the environmental, public health, and economic impacts of generator use, as well as the policies, programs, and partnerships advancing equitable electrification across New York City. ​Featuring Heather Lubov, Executive Director of the City Parks Foundation;Paul Onyx Lozito, Deputy Executive Director for Planning, Adaptation, and Environmental Justice at the NYC Mayor's Office of Climate & Environmental Justice;and Andrew Conca-Cheng, Program Manager of the Small Business Empowerment Program and Environmental Justice Program at the Urban Justice Center's Street Vendor Project. The event will be moderated by Arturo Garcia-Costas, Program Director for the Local, National, and International Environment at The New York Community Trust. ​The panel will bring together leaders from government, advocacy, and community organizations to discuss opportunities and challenges in creating a cleaner future for mobile food businesses.
