The health of our planet is on the ballot in every election. The leaders we elect can help move us towards a cleaner, more just future—or they can reverse progress we’ve made. Campaigns have become more expensive and increasingly shaped by rising ad costs, and candidates need to raise significant resources to communicate with voters across a more competitive and fragmented media landscape. The economy and rising energy prices are top of mind for voters this election season. Hear from leaders across the environmental movement as they discuss the importance of building broad coalitions and mobilizing financial support to ensure environmental priorities remain competitive in crowded, expensive races. This electoral engagement is critical in driving meaningful policy change—as seen with the historic Inflation Reduction Act. And as we saw with the rollback of IRA policies, the consequences of electoral disengagement are dire. Landmark eco-friendly policies don’t happen by chance;they require electing leaders who prioritize environmental action and climate solutions at every level of government. Join Pete Maysmith, President of LCV;Jed Ober, Managing Director of the NRDC Action Fund;and Erica Slates, GiveGreen Vice President for a conversation about how strategic political giving, coalition building, and electoral engagement can help elect climate champions that create lasting policy change well past Election Day.
