The people who understand a building best are often the least likely to be asked what they know. During Climate Week NYC, People Positive brings together two very different perspectives from inside the built environment. Gayathri Unnikrishnan helped develop the global WELL Building Standard. Stephen Bruno spent years behind the desk of a Park Avenue apartment building before writing his acclaimed memoir, Building Material. Join them at Housing Works Bookstore for a lively and candid conversation about the people who bring buildings to life, the strange intimacy of sharing space, and what changes when lived experience is treated as expertise. The evening will also celebrate the launch of Gayathri’s new book, People Positive, which offers a practical framework for understanding, measuring, and improving the human effects of decisions across buildings, products, organizations, and communities. Expect sharp ideas, funny stories, audience questions, drinks, snacks, a book signing, and time to connect with people working across climate and the built environment.
