Open Data and Climate Finance: Making Climate Data Usable in Credit Decisions, or Financing the Transition: Interoperable Data for Project and Resource Finance.

Climate and sustainability disclosure has multiplied, yet very little of it reaches the point where credit and investment decisions are actually made. Data arrives in formats that risk teams cannot ingest, on timelines that do not match deal cycles, and with provenance that auditors and supervisors struggle to test. The result is a widening gap between what institutions report and what they can act on. The Open Data and Climate Finance initiative brings together eight to twelve participants from across the financing chain, including banks, institutional investors, insurers, supervisors and industry associations, for a ninety-minute working conversation on what interoperability would need to look like for the data to become decision-grade. The session is held under the Chatham House Rule. It is a discussion rather than a presentation: there are no pitches, no product demonstrations and no sponsors in the room. Attendance is by invitation, and places are limited to keep the conversation genuinely open.
