NY Tech Meetup: Climate Tech Edition brings together more than 350 founders, industry leaders, VCs, family offices, and researchers for an evening exploring mounting risks and the role of transformative new technology in strengthening resilience.
Hosted by the NY Tech Alliance, Campus Deep Tech, the Columbia Lenfest Center for Sustainable Energy, and the Columbia Climate Fund, the event will explore how emerging technologies can help industries and communities respond to physical climate risks, geopolitical uncertainty, aging infrastructure, supply-chain bottlenecks, and growing demand for energy and critical resources.
An expert panel, Risk, Resilience, and the Future of Climate Tech, will examine how AI, markets, policy, and geopolitical forces are shaping climate innovation and where additional capital, research, and entrepreneurial attention are most needed. Confirmed panelists include Vanessa Chan of Penn Engineering, Gernot Wagner of Columbia Business School, and Anastasia O’Rourke of the Carbon Containment Lab and Yale School of the Environment.
The evening will also feature a pitch competition highlighting six promising pre-seed and seed-stage climate technology startups connected to leading universities across the Northeast. Confirmed judges include Priyanka Bakaya of ARPA-E, Rachel Slaybaugh of DCVC, and Noah Sumait of Energy Impact Partners.
The program will conclude with a networking reception connecting founders, researchers & engineers, investors, corporate innovation teams, and climate leaders working to build a more abundant, efficient, and resilient future.
