Art into Action is a one-of-a-kind educational gallery pop-up, on display for the first time ever during NY Climate Week 2026. The week-long exhibit, free and open to the public from Monday, September 21, 2026, to Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 11 am to 6 pm, features thirteen original works by twelve notable visual artists and explores the intersection of art, data, and action.
Each piece makes the unseen methane pollution visible from each artist's perspective, and serves as a satirical “award” given to methane polluters, based on satellite and on-the-ground thermography data, science-based health risk maps, and attribution, which help generate attention that leads to real-world emissions impact.
Visitors will learn more about methane, how its emissions impact nearby communities, and the tools and data portals that everyday people can use to identify the pollution risks in their own backyards.
