India’s Clean Energy Transformation: Delivering 24/7 Clean Power at Scale

​As the world grapples with rapidly growing electricity demand from data centers, advanced manufacturing, and industry, India’s emerging model of firm, round-the-clock renewable power paired with storage offers a clean, affordable, and rapidly deployable pathway to meet new demand reliably. Beyond record renewable-energy capacity additions and some of the world’s most competitive clean-energy prices, India is mobilizing private capital, strengthening institutions, and building the manufacturing base needed for a reliable and affordable clean-energy system. India’s experience could offer important lessons for other economies facing similar challenges. ​Convened as part of Climate Week NYC at the Consulate General of India in New York, in partnership with the India Energy and Climate Center at UC Berkeley, this event will bring together policymakers, utilities, developers, investors, and civil society organizations to discuss the policy and market-design choices behind this transformation and identify opportunities for deeper India–U.S. collaboration. IECC works collaboratively with Indian policymakers and business leaders to design an innovation and deployment ecosystem through tech-informed policy design, capacity building, a leadership dialogue platform and south-to-south collaboration.
