From pledge to panel: How Indonesia can deliver on its 100GW solar ambition

Indonesia's ambition to deliver 100GW of solar energy before 2030 presents a major opportunity to strengthen energy security, attract foreign direct investment and support economic growth. Delivering that ambition will require collaboration across government ministries, utilities, businesses and investors. This invitation-only executive roundtable brings together senior Indonesian government representatives, RE100 companies and strategic partners to discuss how the public and private sectors can work together to translate growing demand for renewables into new projects. Drawing on lessons from RE100 markets that have experienced rapid solar growth, participants will discuss the policies, market structures and practical solutions that have successfully accelerated renewable energy deployment and attracted private investment. A key focus of the discussion will be the role corporate demand can play in supporting implementation of Indonesia's 100GW solar ambition. RE100 members will share their renewable electricity procurement needs and the scale of demand they represent in Indonesia, providing a clear signal that businesses are ready to support new renewable energy projects. The discussion will also explore the policy and market conditions needed to translate that demand into deployment, including procurement pathways such as self-generation and power wheeling that can better enable corporate buyers to invest in, and drive new project deployment. The roundtable will focus on what is needed to translate growing corporate demand for renewable electricity into real projects, while strengthening relationships between key stakeholders and identifying opportunities for ongoing collaboration.
