The Empire State Building (ESB), one of the world’s most iconic skyscrapers, serves as a model for high-performance retrofits in historic, occupied, landmarked assets. Recently, Corgan renovated its new office space on the 54th floor of the building with a focus minimizing material use and selectively using products and materials with low global warming potential (GWP). Corgan's new office in the Empire State Building is slated to achieve Zero Carbon Certification from International Living Building Institute (ILFI). This is in alignment with ESB's efforts to lead decarbonization through its efficiency upgrades and shift towards electrification.
The panel will discuss how Corgan and ESB have aligned to support each other to achieve higher standards for sustainability, occupant well-being and a decarbonized future in New York city.
