The 10th NYC Green School Conference 2026 is a landmark international conference dedicated to advancing sustainable education, climate leadership, innovation, artificial intelligence, and regenerative development. Celebrating a decade of global impact, the conference will take place on September 23–24, 2026, in New York City, during Climate Week NYC and aligned with the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81).
Under the theme, "Regenerating Futures: AI, Greening Education for a Thriving Planet," the conference will convene educators, school leaders, university leaders, policymakers, researchers, sustainability professionals, youth leaders, government representatives, UN agencies, foundations, corporations, and civil society organizations from around the world to explore how education can become one of the most powerful drivers of climate action, sustainability, resilience, innovation, and societal transformation.
As education systems worldwide respond to the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, artificial intelligence, workforce transformation, and growing social inequalities, the conference provides a collaborative platform for sharing knowledge, showcasing best practices, strengthening partnerships, and developing solutions that prepare learners for a rapidly changing world.
The conference will feature keynote addresses, policy dialogues, research presentations, innovation showcases, youth forums, school and university leadership sessions, networking opportunities, and strategic partnership initiatives focused on climate-smart education, green campuses, sustainability leadership, AI-enabled learning, green workforce development, environmental stewardship, and education for sustainable development.
A special highlight of the 2026 conference will be the America250 Education Series, commemorating 250 years of American education (1776–2026) and exploring a bold vision for education in 2276. Through the America250 Sustainability Time Capsule & Educational Legacy Archive, student and educator dialogues, leadership forums, and historical reflections, participants will celebrate the contributions of educators, policymakers, philanthropists, and institutions that have shaped education while inspiring future generations to advance sustainability, civic leadership, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
The 10th NYC Green School Conference serves as a global platform for building partnerships, inspiring action, empowering learners, and accelerating the transformation of schools, universities, and communities into sustainability innovation hubs and climate-resilient learning ecosystems.
Together, participants will help shape a future where education empowers every learner to contribute to a more sustainable, equitable, resilient, and thriving world.
