Make it count. Measuring Impact in Urban Regeneration

For too long, urban regeneration has been measured by a single yardstick: real estate value. Yet when cities are regenerated with intent, they generate value of a different order — social, environmental, civic — and that value can be counted. In its sixth appearance at Climate Week NYC, following editions devoted to art (2024) and technology (2025), Near spa benefit (former EuroMilano Spa) turns to the substance of the question: what does it mean to regenerate a city with impact, and how do we tell genuine impact from its imitations? The conversation brings together an international panel — research, the global cities and climate networks, and social-housing finance — to explore how patient capital, credible metrics, and plural public-private partnerships are redefining the value cities create. At its heart lies a working hypothesis the group has long pursued: that the most durable returns are the ones that extend beyond the bricks.
