As the impacts of climate change become increasingly evident, New York City agencies are moving beyond policy development and transforming resiliency goals into tangible projects that protect communities, infrastructure, and public resources. Through strategic investments, interagency collaboration, and lessons learned from project implementation, the city is building a more resilient future. Representatives from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), and other industry leaders will share how resiliency considerations are being integrated into capital planning, infrastructure design, and project delivery. Panelists will discuss major initiatives currently underway, including energy resiliency, stormwater and drainage improvements, flood mitigation strategies, and efforts to strengthen critical infrastructure against future climate risks. The discussion will provide attendees with a firsthand perspective on the challenges, successes, and innovations associated with implementing climate resiliency projects at scale. Through project case studies and practical lessons learned, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how New York City is turning resilience planning into action and creating infrastructure that can withstand the evolving impacts of climate change.
