Official Climate Week NYC events calendar
Featured event:
Monday, September 21, 2026
AI is accelerating electricity demand while reshaping who has access to power and on what terms. As data centres scale rapidly, they are competing with industry, transport, and cities for clean, affordable electricity. The challenge is no longer understanding the strain;it’s managing the trade-offs between speed, cost, and sustainability in a constrained system.
Featured event:
The AI Forum: Scaling sustainable infrastructure
Tuesday, September 22, 2026
Demand for AI is outpacing infrastructure, energy supply and natural resources. Yet, AI may be the key to fast-tracking the renewable energy transition, generating sustainable investments, and galvanizing the climate action movement. The AI Forum at Climate Week NYC will convene senior leaders from business and government to examine the problems a growing AI market creates, as well as the innovative opportunities that data centers can bring. This session will explore the disparities between energy supply and demand, present new models for AI infrastructure, confront AI's thermal challenge and the emerging business models it's creating.
Featured event:
NYPH Regenerative Metropolis Symposium 2026
Friday, September 18, 2026
Join New York Passive House as we kick-off the weekend before Climate Week 2026 for the return of the Regenerative Metropolis Symposium: a premier gathering of the innovators, practitioners, policymakers, and thought leaders advancing the future of the built environment.
Rooted in Passive House principles and expanding into regenerative design, systems thinking, and regenerative economics, this year's symposium explores how we can create buildings and communities that are not only high-performing, but also resilient, equitable, financially viable, and restorative by design.
Featured event:
Preciously, the Planet: A Climate Week Opening Gathering | Plastic & Clothing Upcycling Workshop
Saturday, September 19, 2026
Join us as we learn how to upcycle plastic with Precious Plastic NYC and artist Juliana Castaneda. We will begin the morning with a climate emotions discussion and meditation. Juliana Castaneda is an artist and fashion designer based in Brooklyn, NY. They create vibrant, sustainability focused textile work, including multimedia tapestries and upcycled clothing. In their upcycling practice, they paint and mend second-hand items to give them a new life.
Featured event:
Waste Is a Design Flaw: Building the Circular Industrial Economy
Wednesday, September 23, 2026
Too often, circularity is reduced to recycling. But for industry, real circularity is much broader—and far more transformative. Hear from leaders from Bain & Company, Envetec, Haddy, Volkswagen, and Siemens as they explore how organizations are rethinking product design, material flows, asset performance, and value creation across the full product lifecycle. From modernization and refurbishment to remanufacturing, resource recovery, and new service-based business models, circularity is fundamentally reshaping how industrial companies create value.
