CONVIVIUM: Our Venue. Our Vision.
CONVIVIUM is more than our venue during UNGA Week—it is our approach to change. A living space where food becomes the universal language for connecting people, ideas, and institutions, transforming conversations into collaboration and collaboration into action.
The eight Future Food Institute Initiatives are the common thread weaving together the themes at the heart of our mission. Together, they frame food as the nexus of climate, biodiversity, oceans, health, culture, education, technology, resilient cities, and regenerative prosperity.
CONVIVIUM is where these Initiatives converge, cross-pollinate, and evolve—transforming diverse perspectives into collective action. More than a venue, it is a living infrastructure for regenerative diplomacy: a contemporary agora where kitchens become laboratories, meals become dialogue, and conversations become coalitions.
We believe the table is humanity's oldest and most effective technology for building trust. In an increasingly fragmented world, gastrodiplomacy can become one of our greatest infrastructures for peace—creating empathy before negotiation, relationships before agreements, and shared purpose before collective action.
Because every shared meal has the power to nourish trust, regenerate communities, and become the place where the future begins.
Waste & Circular Systems
Reimagining circular food economies by eliminating waste, regenerating value from by-products, and advancing bio-based materials, fermentation, upcycling, and circular design as engines of resilience and prosperity.
Nutrition for All
Ensuring that healthy, nutritious, affordable, and culturally meaningful food becomes a universal right while advancing food justice, preventive health, longevity, and human flourishing.
Planet Aqua
Recognizing the ocean as the blue heart of our planet, Planet Aqua advances a regenerative vision that connects water, food, biodiversity, climate, and human health. From watersheds to coastlines, from regenerative aquaculture to ocean stewardship, the Initiative explores how protecting aquatic ecosystems becomes essential to ensuring food security, resilience, prosperity, and the future of life on Earth.
Earth Regeneration
Restoring soil fertility, biodiversity, and ecosystem vitality through regenerative agriculture, landscape restoration, nature-positive innovation, and community stewardship.
Mediterranean Foodscape
Learning from the Mediterranean Diet as humanity's most enduring living framework for Integral Ecology—connecting biodiversity, culture, science, education, policy, territorial regeneration, and sustainable gastronomy to inspire new models of prosperity, fertility, and longevity.
Humana Communitas
From Heritage to AI. Inspired by the principles of Paideia and Integral Human Development, Humana Communitas cultivates a new generation of regenerative leaders capable of bridging ancestral wisdom with artificial intelligence, ethics with innovation, and individual purpose with collective wellbeing. Through education, cultural heritage, intergenerational dialogue, systems thinking, and social innovation, it empowers communities to become protagonists of a more conscious, resilient, and prosperous future.
Cities of the Future
Designing regenerative cities where food becomes critical infrastructure—connecting urban and rural ecosystems, public health, circular economies, local production, community wellbeing, and new models of territorial prosperity.
Climate
Positioning food as one of humanity's most powerful climate solutions by integrating agriculture, biodiversity, finance, technology, policy, and regenerative innovation into a shared roadmap for planetary resilience.
By connecting food with climate, biodiversity, health, water, finance, technology, Indigenous wisdom, education, and resilient cities, the Future Food Institute's Initiatives reveal food as the connective tissue that links the systems shaping our collective future.
