Join RIPESS Intercontinental, the CUNY School for Labor and Urban Studies, and the U.S. Solidarity Economy Network for a discussion on the upcoming 3rd UN resolution on the global social solidarity economy.
Solidarity economy practitioners, scholars, and movement builders working in New York are invited to explore the resolution, collaborate on feedback, and hear from speakers affiliated with USSEN, WIEGO, the Global Platform for the Right to the City (GPR2C), and URGENCI.
AGENDA
- Welcome, grounding, and orientation to social solidarity economy
- Presentation on resolution 79/213 and the opportunities for movement, accountability, and co-construction
- Movement dialogue on the state of solidarity economics in New York and the broader United States
- Breakout groups to identify concrete priorities and proposals for implementation of resolution 79/213
- Networking and breakfast
Participants can expect to leave the event with shared priorities for implementing the UN SSE agenda in ways that strengthen community power, collective ownership, decent work, care, social and racial justice, ecological transition, and democratic participation.
