Twenty years ago, former United States Vice President Al Gore's Academy Award-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth changed the way the world looked at climate. With its clear presentation of the science and powerful storytelling, the film sparked an unprecedented global conversation on the climate crisis and launched a people-powered movement for solutions. That same year, Vice President Gore invited 50 people to his family farm in Tennessee to learn how to use the film’s signature slideshow to share the truth of the climate crisis and inspire action. It was the start of The Climate Reality Project and the beginning of a global network that has grown to 4.5 million people from 196 countries and territories.
