This in-person event highlights a new report, entitled Amazon's Forgotten Fish, which highlights on the Amazon’s extraordinary freshwater biodiversity. The event will feature insights from a new report and convene experts and partners working to elevate freshwater conservation as an essential part of the global nature and climate agenda. The Amazon's rivers, wetlands and floodplains are fundamental to ecosystem resilience, biodiversity conservation and human well-being, yet they remain largely absent from climate discussions. Freshwater conservation should be recognized as a core climate action. Healthy freshwater ecosystems is to adaptation what carbon is to mitigation.
