As a retailer with operations in more than two dozen countries and sourcing that spans the globe, Walmart is deeply committed to addressing climate change. The company is focused on strengthening business resilience, advocating for climate action, reducing emissions in its operations and, through Project Gigaton, working with suppliers to avoid a gigaton of greenhouse gas emissions from the global value chain by 2030. In just three years, more than 2,300 suppliers from 50 countries have answered Walmart’s call and reported 230 million metric tons of avoided emissions through energy, waste, packaging, agriculture, forests and product use and design. Learn more here.
