Sunken City: a NYC Climate Change Escape Room

Collective and Clue Chase NYC have partnered up to bring a climate themed escape room, Sunken City, to debut at the House of Solutions as part of Human Impacts Institute's artist-in-residence program on Governor’s Island. It will challenge visitors to work as a team to unravel clues and puzzles based on sustainable initiatives currently being implemented across the city. Set in a dystopian future NYC affected by climate change, teams will solve puzzles about possible climate solutions to prevent future calamity.

Cartographies of the Mind

Join us for the "Cartographies of the Mind" installation. "Cartographies of the Mind" is a participatory installation which visualizes the brain waves of viewers as they contemplate climate change, pollution, and their relationship to planet Earth. As the viewer's brain waves reflect thought patterns over a changing aesthetic spectrum, they become the agent for the creation of the art experience, revealing the multi-layered internal compositions of the landscape of the mind.

MEDITATION & MULTIMEDIA ACTIVISM

This event will take place in Chelsea art district, during the Thursday night art walk. Mike Akomplice will begin the event by taking participants on a walk through a multimedia art exhibit dubbed, "The Wrong Amazon Is Burning. The Wrong Ice Is Melting." Mike will then speak about how he has used art, film, textiles, and digital media to bring about change both socially and environmentally and how meditation has played an integral role. Participants will then join in on a short Sheng Zhen moving meditation form.
