Sunken City: a NYC Climate Change Escape Room

Collective and Clue Chase NYC have partnered up to bring a climate themed escape room, Sunken City, to debut at the House of Solutions as part of Human Impacts Institute's artist-in-residence program on Governor’s Island. It will challenge visitors to work as a team to unravel clues and puzzles based on sustainable initiatives currently being implemented across the city. Set in a dystopian future NYC affected by climate change, teams will solve puzzles about possible climate solutions to prevent future calamity.

A Day of Learning on the Art of Environmental Justice

On September 28, 2019, the Roundtable will host A Day of Learning on the Art of Environmental Justice at the New York Botanical Garden. This Day of Learning is dedicated to exploring ways in which the arts in education community is employing artistic practice as a means to inspire community, education, and active awareness of climate change and environmental justice issues. The event will culminate in a presentation of NYBG’s Climate Change Arts Exchange, a multidisciplinary performance of NYC-based performing arts groups presenting new works related to climate change.

Climate Science on the Sand

Step onto the sand at Brooklyn Bridge Beach for kid friendly, hands on activities that reveal how our local waters can be measured for climate change.

Drop in throughout the afternoon to touch the East River and test its temperature and pH, and learn how warming waters and ocean acidification are affecting us. We’ll mark low tide at 2:29pm and use a flood yard stick to predict future water levels and learn how our community is preparing for them.
