As sea level rises, threatening both the New York Region’s communities and its coastal wetlands, both will have to adapt to survive. Especially in such a heavily urbanized region, the long-term strategies needed to adapt both coastal wetlands and communities are inextricably linked. What and where are the opportunities to preserve and adapt wetlands and communities together? What tensions between habitat and the built environment arise? Do we have the policy and design solutions needed to take on such an ambitious endeavor?

Creative Climate Awards

An annual series of events that showcase artists creating climate-inspired, public works and actions. In an effort to inspire us to think more critically about our actions and their impacts, the Creative Climate Awards program uses the arts and creativity to share knowledge, broaden the climate conversation, educate, and incite action.

Building A Net Zero Economy By 2050

A series of five roundtable discussions in the U.S. and Europe, each gathering companies from a range of industries which are already taking steps to significantly lower emissions and contribute to sustainable development. 

The roundtables are part of the Talanoa Dialogue, set up by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to provide a unique opportunity for civil society and the private sector to contribute their views into the previously government-dominated climate negotiations.

Blue is a feature documentary film charting the drastic decline in the health of our oceans. With more than half of all marine life lost and the expansion of the industrialization of the seas, the film sets out the challenges we are facing and the opportunities for positive change.

ICAP Annual Meeting

Policymakers from a wide range of ICAP jurisdictions, ICAP co-chairs and members of the ICAP Secretariat will convene in New York City this September, kindly hosted by the New York State Government.

Two technical workshops will be held on linking emissions trading systems (ETS), as well as ETS and companion policy interactions. The meeting agenda also includes updates on recent ETS trends and plans in ICAP jurisdictions, as well as discussions on ICAP activities.
