Over 350 Events for Climate Week NYC 2019

September 25, 2019–New York, NY – New Yorkers are encouraged to embrace their inner activist during Climate Week NYC. With over 350 events currently registered to take place between September 23rd to 29th, ranging from film screenings and panel discussions to nature walks and theatre shows, the week inspires communities, business leaders, youth groups, and individuals to join the global conversation on climate change and take action.

Led by international non-profit The Climate Group, this year’s event runs in coordination with the United Nations and the City of New York, and in parallel with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit. Events are categorized into eleven different thematic areas to align with the UN’s summit, including a new Youth and Activism strand, in partnership with international advocacy organization Global Citizen, reflecting the global leadership and influence of young people on climate action. Other program strands include Health Equality and Justice, Sustainable Travel and Leisure and Clean Transport, Buildings and Infrastructure.

Helen Clarkson, CEO, The Climate Group, said: “With over 350 events set to take place this year, New York is set to transform into a thriving hub of climate action. There is no better time and place for members of the local and global community to come together and collaborate on new solutions, and discuss how to do more.”
