The need for a just and equitable transition in the context of climate action has never been more critical. The journey towards a net zero economy must guarantee that no one is left behind.
In this roundtable we will bring together diverse stakeholders - Subnational governments, civil society organisations, financial institutions, and businesses - to address the challenges, solutions and opportunities of transitioning to a sustainable and equitable future. The discussion will explore collaborative approaches that integrate social and economic considerations into climate action.
In particular we will spotlight the potential of green jobs as a key theme. We will outline plans that advocate for prioritizing marginalized communities, foster inclusive decision-making, and enable wider access to green jobs and training opportunities.
Our goal is to emphasize the importance of collaborative efforts among stakeholders when thinking about just transition. This means embedding inclusive decision-making, community engagement, sustainable investments, and responsible business practices into all just transition strategies.
