The CUNY Environmental Sciences Initiative is planning 'Smarter Cities in a Changing Climate: Preparing the 21st Century Workforce', a half-day event that welcomes CUNY students and faculty, government and NGO practitioners, and industry representatives to discuss preparing the workforce needed to develop ‘smart', climate-resilient cities.
Through workshops, plenary presentations and a networking reception, this event will highlight existing environmental data science and climate analytics training programs at CUNY, provide opportunities for CUNY faculty to build partnerships with industry and community organizations, and provide opportunities for students to learn more about smart city careers.
The CUNY Environmental Sciences Initiative serves as a hub for interdisciplinary environmental science research at The City University of New York. This diverse research community encompasses faculty, staff, and students from colleges across the five boroughs of New York City. The Environmental Sciences Initiative is one of 5 research initiatives of the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center, a public, non-profit academic institution.
This event is by invitation only. Those interested in participating should request an invitation by completing this online form.
This event is part of the State, City and Local Action program of Climate Week NYC.
