Listening to one another’s experiences as activists is an important part of the UN Climate Action Summit and Climate Week NYC. We need stories of hope and courage to inspire and unite us, and so many are never reported in the media. This “open forum” welcomes activists to share personal stories of activism that communicate hope and courage. Others can use this unique opportunity to listen to and learn from their comrades. The format of this forum gives participants a chance to more fully understand and relate to others as well as to share their own experiences. Several times during the forum, members of the audience will pair up to process what they have heard and listen to each others’ stories. This way, everyone has a chance to tell their own story and to process what they hear. Sharing experiences is a powerful tool that strengthens our activism.
