Jews have a long history of bold action for justice. To help to create a sustainable future, we Jews must build alliances with all people. However, the long history of anti-Semitism, racism, and genocides against many peoples has damaged and divided us. We need to understand and heal from the damage to build the relationships we need for a powerful, united movement to sustain all life.
In this workshop, we will invite you to:
- Gain perspective about the particular role that anti- Semitism has played in dividing progressive movements.
- Share your story as a Jew working for climate justice.
- Practice paired listening tools for alliance building with all peoples.
- Learn the approaches used by Sustaining All Life and United to End Racism to heal from the damage of oppression, increase our effectiveness in the climate justice movement, and prevent burnout.
This event is part of the Health, Equality and Justice program of Climate Week NYC.
