The EastWest Institute (EWI), in collaboration with EarthX, will host a convening of top government officials, experts and business leaders to explore and discuss the risks posed by water insecurity and the most promising paths forward.
The event will begin with welcome remarks by Trammell S. Crow, founder of EarthX, followed by a fireside chat between the Honorable Felipe Calderon, former president of Mexico, and honorary president of the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate and the Sustainable Human Development Foundation, and EWI CEO Dr. William J. Parker III.
Professor Upmanu Lall, Director, Columbia Water Center, will provide keynote remarks, followed by a panel discussion featuring regional experts from the field of hydrodiplomacy and water security to examine issues inherent to some of the most globally recognized water stressed regions.
The panel will be moderated by international journalist Kitty Pilgrim with Dr. Scott Moore, Director, Penn Global China Program at the University of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Adrian Parr, Dean of the College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Arlington and UNESCO Chair of Water and Human Settlements.
